Florian founded EVIDENT with the vision to promote the world's collective pursuit of improbable ideas. His goal is to enable more people to invest in impactful alternative assets that present the investment opportunities of our lifetime. Before starting EVIDENT, he served as CEO of a publicly listed commodities trading technology company. Having built startups since being a student, Florian earlier co-founded FinFabrik, a blockchain technology company that was acquired in 2020. His prior corporate career spanned financial services consulting with the Boston Consulting Group in Vienna and New York, and wealth and asset management with Credit Suisse in Switzerland, London, and Singapore. Florian is an economist by training and holds a PhD from the University of Vienna. In his free time, Florian is a passionate amateur road cyclist and a trail runner in the hills of Hong Kong. He teaches fintech at Hong Kong University and serves on the FinTech Advisory Board of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.
As an early joiner of EVIDENT, and with years of experience in the fintech ecosystem in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Belgium, Thomas oversees and coordinates various departments within EVIDENT, implementing the broader business strategy and vision. Driven by his hunger for disruption in traditional finance, Thomas has also been active as an investor and shaper of fintech ecosystems in web3, defi, tokenization and blockchain. He holds a BSc in Business Management from the University of Antwerp, and is a passionate hiker in the hills of Hong Kong.
Hemant has been with EVIDENT from its early days. He manages a team of software engineers and product specialists across front-end, back-end, and blockchain technologies. His responsibilities include leading software development, ensuring platform security, and continuously building out the engineering team with top talent. As a specialist for backend architecture and application security, he worked as an applications engineer and technology lead in a range of FinTech and trading technology companies in Hong Kong and in Rakuten Inc as Applications Engineer. Hemant holds an MSc in Information Technology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and an MBA in Digital Finance. Hemant loves driving and exploring new places and, in his free time, enjoys cooking delicious Indian dishes.
Arnold joined EVIDENT to build and lead EVIDENT Capital Advisors, the alternative asset fundraising practice within the Group, focusing on digital assets. Prior to joining EVIDENT, Arnold helped build and led a digital asset fundraising practice, working with top-tier global Private Equity/VC funds and Hedge Funds, as well as professional investors ranging from Single Family Offices, HWNI to Institutional Investors. Arnold spent a combined 15+ years in Fundraising, Investment Banking (Mergers & Acquisitions and Coverage), Corporate Finance and Strategic Advisory with global institutions such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Scotiabank and BMO Capital Markets in Canada and Hong Kong.
To stay sharp, Arnold has a passion for hybrid racing, running on the road/track/trails, weight training, tennis, golf and basketball.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Finance) from the University of Alberta in Canada.
Kenneth has been working with various multinational investment management companies and major custodian banks, and well experienced in managing product lifecycles, client servicing, operation and risk management in fund products of different structures and types of investments e.g. hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, authorized mutual funds, private equities, alternative investments, and other structured products.
Prior to joining Evident, Kenneth was the Chief Operating Officer and serving as well in the investment management committee and senior management team with an offshore asset management company specializing in private equities, funds of hedge funds, and alternative investments. He is a fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants. He obtained his first degree of BBA(Hon.) major in Professional Accounting from the HKUST, and also an MBA from the UNSW Sydney.
Mr. Wai has more than 18 years of solid experience in asset allocation, fund management and providing investment and wealth management solutions experience for institutions, ultra-high net worth families and individuals. Prior joining EVIDENT, Mr. Wai was an Executive Director and CEO of an offshore asset manager, Investment Director of a Chinese Family Office and Chairman of the Investment Committee. He specialized at macroeconomic analysis and asset allocation strategies, familiarized with different kind of investment products and hedge funds, private and alternative investments, trusts and family succession planning, etc.. The multi-asset global FoFs portfolio he managed was awarded the Best Global Fund Portfolio Award by the AI magazine in 2016. He was awarded “Financial Advisor Award – Gold Award” and “Best Financial Plan Award” by the Benchmark magazine in 2011. Mr. Wai graduated from the University of Hong Kong. He is a CFA® charterholder and CFPCM certificant.
