The power of tokenization

Issuance

Impact investing today is still exclusive, inefficient and illiquid. Adding digital elements to the existing procedures and traditions in alternative assets is not cutting it. We set out to reinvent the inner workings of the investment process and completely digitalize the value chain. We are turning tangible and intangible impact assets into digital goods, just like non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

Evident achieves that by using blockchain technology to digitalize the underlying asset in form of tokens called Digital Units. Technically, Evident acts as a tokenization on-ramp to create fractional NFTs. As a result, the value of each Digital Unit on Evident is backed by an underlying impact asset. Investors get to participate in its value, income and other qualities by holding the Digital Unit in their wallet—or sell it on the secondary market anytime.

Secondary market

Evident provides an open venue for investors to buy and sell Digital Units in a peer-to-peer decentralized market. Settlement is accepted in both stablecoins and ALGO, the native currency of Algorand. Each transaction settles directly on the blockchain which ensures security and reliability.

We are building on the Algorand blockchain, using the Algorand Standard Assets (ASA) framework. Algorand is a permissionless, Pure Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocol with open participation, scalability, security and transaction finality.

Aligning with Evident’s mission, Algorand’s technology was also designed to be energy and resource-efficient, and operates as a carbon-negative network using carbon offsets.
